This page explains how to delete your Walliee account, what happens to your information when you do, and what is kept. Walliee is provided by Walliee Ltd.

HOW TO DELETE YOUR ACCOUNT

You can delete your account yourself in the Walliee app:

  • open the Walliee app and sign in;
  • go to Settings, then Profile (tap the profile icon in the top-right corner);
  • select Delete Account;
  • confirm when prompted.

If you cannot sign in, or you would prefer us to do it for you, email support@walliee.com from the address on your account with the subject "Delete my account". We may need to verify your identity before we can act on the request.

BEFORE YOU DELETE

Cancel your subscription first

If you have a paid Walliee subscription, deleting your account does not cancel it. Subscriptions are billed by Apple or Google, not by Walliee, and we cannot cancel them on your behalf. Cancel your subscription before deleting your account:

  • iPhone or iPad: Settings app > your name > Subscriptions > Walliee > Cancel Subscription;
  • Android: Google Play Store > profile icon > Payments and subscriptions > Subscriptions > Walliee > Cancel subscription.

Export your records first

If you want to keep a copy of your children's or pets' records, export them from the app before you delete your account. Once the deletion becomes permanent we cannot recover the data for you.

You can hand a household over instead of deleting it

If you own a household, the app can transfer it to someone else before your account is deleted, so that you do not take other caregivers' records down with you when that was not your intention.

This needs at least one other Household Admin in that household. Ownership can only be handed to an existing admin, not to an ordinary caregiver and not to someone outside the household - handing a family's records to an account that was never part of it would not be safe. If nobody else in the household is an admin, there is nobody to transfer to, and the household is deleted with your account.

So if you want a household to continue after you leave, do this before you delete your account: open the household's Manage Circle, choose the caregiver who should take it on, and select Make Household Admin. They will then appear as an option when you delete.

You decide separately for each household you own. If you hand one over, that household and everything in it stays with the new owner, and you simply leave it as any other caregiver would. If you would rather not, it is deleted along with your account, which is always allowed. Households with no other admin are not offered, so you will not be asked about them.

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU DELETE

Your account is deactivated immediately and you are signed out. Any households you own that you have not handed over are deleted at the same time, together with the children, pets and tracking records in them. Other caregivers in those households are notified that the household has been removed.

For 30 days, signing back in restores your account and those households. This gives you a way back if you change your mind or deleted your account by mistake.

After 30 days the deletion becomes permanent and cannot be reversed.

WHAT IS DELETED

Once the 30 days have passed, we delete:

  • your email address and password;
  • your sign-in identity, so the account can no longer be used to sign in by any method;
  • your profile photo;
  • every image you uploaded, including child and pet profile photos, observation photos, medication photos and milestone photos;
  • the children, pets and all tracking, calendar and reminder records in households you owned (these are deleted at the point you request deletion, not after 30 days);
  • your verification and onboarding status.

WHAT IS KEPT, AND WHY

Two things are deliberately kept. We would rather tell you clearly than say everything is erased when it is not.

Your name on entries you logged in someone else's household

If you were a caregiver in a household belonging to someone else - for example a grandparent, a nanny, or a co-parent whose household you were invited into - and you logged entries there, such as recording that you gave a child their medication, those entries form part of that family's care records rather than your own account. They are not deleted.

Your first and last name remains shown against those entries, marked as an inactive caregiver, so that family's record of who did what stays accurate and complete. Removing it would damage records belonging to a family who has not asked us to delete anything. Households you own are not affected, because they are deleted along with your account.

Community content you published

Bug reports, feature requests and comments you posted in the community area may remain visible so that discussions other users have taken part in remain readable. These are shown under your community username rather than your real name.

OTHER RETENTION

We may keep limited information for longer where the law requires it or where we need it to run the business responsibly. This includes subscription and payment records kept for tax and accounting purposes, records of which version of our legal documents you accepted, and security logs. Backup, soft-delete and versioned copies of deleted content may persist for a short recovery period, generally up to 7 days, before being permanently overwritten.

Our full Privacy Policy explains this in more detail, including your rights over your personal data.

DELETING SOME DATA WITHOUT DELETING YOUR ACCOUNT

You do not have to delete your whole account to remove information. In the app you can delete individual tracking records, uploaded photos, and whole child or pet profiles, and you can remove caregivers from your household at any time.
